Are the mis-sold PPI refunds real? Am I really owed £1000s?

I received a cold-call asking for my mortgage & loan to establish whether I was eligible to claim falsely sold PPI's. I'm a little skeptical about it.
You are right to be skeptical. You will only be owed £1,000s if you have paid £1,000s in premiums and IF the policy was also mis-sold to you. Having said that, if you feel that the policy was mis-sold then you should complain, but do it direct to the company that sold you the PPI. There is no need to use a claims handling company and to pay their fee. If you are not satisifed with the answer you get form the company that sold you the policy you can always complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
