you are not "technically" the owner. you are a co-owner. you should check with your local council if it will impact on all benefits including housing benefit if that were in place as its usually not payable to close relatives especially if you are living there too!
your solicitor and mortgage adviser should have made you aware of this before you complete the transactions.
