I was told by them that i employ them so am a contractor and also a employer also? So does this go on my tax returns somewhere?
i would strongly advise that you speak with your tax office in the UK.
ask for a specialist that deals with overseas income and NI.
you will often find that the person that answers the phone works from a script or aided answers so can often only provide the most basic information that you would otherwise be able to get yourself from the www.hmrc.gov.uk website!
there are double taxation treaties with the UK and overseas countries that will normally ensure that you dont pay twice by being able to offset a paid amount against a due amount in another jurisdiction.
dont forget to take accurate notes from the person at hmrc that you deal with, including their name, date and time of the call.
