Your question is a little vague. can you be a bit more precise?
if you mean should you invest in the shares of banks, to a certain degree yes but as a part of a carefully balanced portfolio that has been matched to your risk profile.
if you mean put all of your money into the shares of one bank, i would never recommend that nomatter what the upside potential. You only have to look at what has happened in the last few years to the shares of northern rock, bradford and bingley, halifax, the now lloyds banking group.
to put too much money concentrated in one asset or one type of market is incredibly high risk.
