I have a bad credit score. What are my mortgage options?
There are a couple of lenders that will consider people with a poor credit score. It would depend on a number of factors, such as why you have a poor credit score, how much you want to borrow, what size deposit you have and whether you are a first time buyer or not.
I would suggest you get a copy of your credit report from Experian (Credit Expert) or Equifax. We could then see what issues are affecting your credit score and advise which mortgage options could be available to you.

I agree with Paul's comments however lenders are becoming incredibly strict and in particular mortgage arrears in the last 2 years will remove every lender from your reach. there are one or two specialist lenders but thier rates are around the 7% level with rather high arrangement fees.
if you need a fast view of your credit file, go with equifax as they will use a bank card to validate your id and give instant access whereas experian send an activation code in the post. both services offer 30 days free access online then a subscription service each month if you havent cancelled (by phone) within the 30 days.
