You can get policies to cover all periods, whether they are cost effective for shorter terms is debatable and you will have to show insurable interest. I have known policies to be as short for 12 months but these policies have certain conditions and certainly don't come cheap ! | 12.08.10 @ 18:45

In the 'mainstream' market you'll get a policy with a minimum one month term. Via the Lloyds markets you can have a cover period as short as you like - hours even. But unless you're the head of a multinational corporation planning to do a one-off dangerous stunt I doubt you'd want one with that short a term! Hope you're not planning to go swimming off Sharm El Sheikh anytime soon? | 12.08.10 @ 20:18
